We humans can put ourselves in the shoes of others. Monkeys can do the same. This behavior is described as Theory of Mind and is extremely important for us humans.

In this picture series I ask myself the question about personality. To what extent are we determined by our genetic makeup and what constitutes our consciousness?

The characteristics in which animal individuals differ depend on the physical characteristics of an animal species. And yet, there are characteristics that seem to be found in all animal species up to and including humans.

Could common biological mechanisms explain not only animal differences but also human personality? At least we already know that genes cannot necessarily be linked to a character trait.
