Artist Statement

The soul dwells in the body and the body moves in space. They stand in interrelation to each other. The transformation of a particle turn changes in the state of its neighbor – a chain reaction that moves between chaos and order.

In my painting, performance and video work, I explore these transformations of elements, which re-sort themselves in the body and its characteristics.

In my work, the expressing, breaking through and bringing into balance, becomes a central component of the work. Therefore, the works revolve again and again around themes such as the social status of women, identity and the critical relationship to patriarchal structures. Furthermore, my work are directly or indirectly about sexuality and its social structure.

In the individual mode of representation, the body in space, time as a processual factor and the view of the viewer are explicitly included in the work and acts as a link between these different media.
